Fundamentals of photography is a course designed to teach the basics of photography. Students who use a DSLR (digital single lens reflex) camera will get the most of this course. We cover camera basics and functions, elements of exposure and modes, light, color, composition and photographic work flow. Each week a different aspect of photography will be explored. Learning both technical aspects and creative aspects of this art form with the goal that each student acquires the ability to create stronger, more compelling images. Each class will have an assignment to be completed by the student. The beginning of each class will start with a review of the previous week’s assignment. Students need to bring their camera, camera manual, and material to take notes to each class. Some handouts will be provided.
